Smile

Everyday I was at work I felt bad for my wife staying at home with a crying baby. Everyday I got home all I hear is crying. Work was like a holiday. Infact I figured I wouldn’t take vacation from work for the next five to ten years. HOWEVER, in the last couple of days I have been home from work I have come to find out the truth of our little baby.

She is nice, quite and playful every morning. She even smiles at me! I feel great to be a dad. She can be left with her toys for several minutes here and there. She is quite content. Then, four o’clock comes, the time I get off work and all she wants is attention. She wants to be walked, burped, changed…, walked some more. The very second you put her down she gets the biggest frown I’ve ever seen then two seconds later lets out a cry until you pick her up.

I heard they grow out of that and things get easier. I am not so sure though because I know a couple of adults that sound almost the same when they don’t get what they want. Some of them still wear diappers. I guess time will tell. For now when I get home I will just turn my head upside down and turn her frowns into a smile.
