I believe religion is a very important part of raising children. I commend you for supporting and encouraging your daughter in your faith. It will make her and your family stronger as you grow together.

I've never heard of a baby dedication before. Good for you. Sounds like your daughter is headed down the right path.

I am a Christian, I guess Catholics would call me a protestant (Although I am not really protesting anything). Yes, our Baby Dedication is like your Baptism (without the water) and we get Baptized later.

Baby dedication is more of a statement made by the parents and later on the child chooses if they want to get baptized (their statement of that they want to be a new person).

I am always open to questions on faith and religion so feel free to ask any time.

If you don't mind asking... What faith do you follow? We are Catholic, and we have a Baptism... I have a couple of Mormon readers, and I enjoy hearing about the differences between our faiths as well.

I have a deep respect and curiosity for other faiths.. I always have. On of my favorite college courses was "Religions of the World".

If you are not comfortable sharing, I understand. Just know that I am asking out of curiosity only (and with respect).
