God had Dad’s in mind when He said that Sunday would be a day of rest. If it would be possible for God to have one idea that would be considered the “Best Idea”, the day of rest would win. I don’t think there is a single Dad who wouldn’t agree.

Sunday Afternoon
Sunday Afternoon

Although I don’t nap on Sunday after noon’s, my wife, daughter and cat do. My time is spent reading, editing photos or writing my blog. It doesn’t matter what I do as long as I can take it at my own pace which is usually very slow with lots of breaks for something to drink, mind wondering, playing with twist ties and any other mindless activities.

I thought I was weird with my time spent on useless things or just sitting and thinking about nothing. That was until recently when I heard a guy speak on the differences between men and women. He said something to the effect of “Men have a nothing box and nothing goes in the nothing box. When he is in his nothing box he thinks about nothing.” He went on to inform women that if you ask him what he is thinking about he will say “Nothing”. You can’t get men to tell you a different answer because that is exactly what they are thinking about.

Now my wife doesn’t ask me what I am thinking about she just says “Your in your nothing box right?”. Since my daughter was born my nothing box has shrunk but has become more obvious. There is not much time to be in the nothing box so when I am in there it is noticeable to my wife because that time is the same time she wants me in her box (I don’t mean that in a sexual way).

So what does this have to do with Sunday afternoon? While everyone is sleeping I am in my nothing box relaxing. I step in and out of my nothing box as I please. Thank God for a day of rest and giving dad’s a nice nothing box filled with a whole lot of nothing.
