A Canada Day Walk
Topic: Food, My Story | 4 Comments »One of the greatest things of being a Dad is to watch her learn new things. This Canada day I got to take her for a short little walk through the park.
It was fun to taker her to the big celebration down at the park. As Canadians a big part of our Canada Day is celebrating different types of food, …um.. I mean all the different nationalities we have here. Which means all kinds of good food.
This year I had Phillipean food. My wife and daughter had chowed down on some Chinese chow main.
Personally although I am pure Canadian and I am also mixed bread of Sweedish and Ukrinian. This means at Christmas we eat pickled fish and goat cheese on dry crakers for breakfast then for dinner sour cabage rolls with garlic sausage and perogies.
Now that my daughter has learned to walk and eat international food I guess it won’t be long until I can teach her how to eat the pickled fish and goat cheese. For now we will just leave it to the Chinese noodles.

Cute photo. I was a bad dad on America’s Independence Day (also July 4th). I finished painting the living room while my wife took them to the mall and then to a party.

Nice post. Sounds like it was a great Canada Day. We were in Canada for the holiday last year. Missed it this year.

Start the pickled fish early. They get more finicky as they get older.

Filipino food is a good one to get her started on as well. My wife is filipino and it took me a while to get used to it… but from what I’ve seen, kids love it pretty much universally (just stick to the noodle and meat/potato items as starter dishes). Good luck on giving your daughter a worldly taste!
