Full Of Bull

Here is a bull statue with my new Canon 55mm F1.8 lens. After several months of shooting with only a 70-300mm lens my wife got me a 50mm lens for our Anniversary.
I have to say I like it a lot. It beats my kit lenses for sure. It’s clear, crisp and I like having the apature. It will take some time to get used to as all I shot with before was zoom lenses.
The zooms are nice for candid photos. I think getting those quick shots will be a little harder with this lens because I will have to move around more. With a zoom you can just stand there and be less of a distraction. On the other hand I can always crop.
The advantage of this lens is I like to avoid the flash when I can and this will let me shot in less light. Like I said before I like the apature and the bokeh you get. It will be just a matter of learning the lens and how to shoot with it.

I don’t know anything about photography, but my brother in law is a fanatic. He says what you seem to be saying here, that it’s the lenses that really matter, not really the camera. Interesting, thanks.
