Butterfly Girl
Topic: My Story | No Comments »Recently we took a trip with our girls. They had to ride almost nine hours each way (including breaks). So we had to stop lots to let our oldest girl out to stretch her legs and run around on narrow strips of grass beside gas stations and highways.
At one place she spotted butterflies and caterpillars. At first I didn’t know what she was pointing at. She kept saying “Dat, Dat”, so I told her “That’s dirt” but she wouldn’t let up. I took a second look and saw it was a butterfly. The one was so tame that my daughter was able to pick it up by the wings. She only held it for a split second and then let go but she was really amused by them.
Later she found a caterpillar. When it was time to go it was hard for her to say good bye to her new little friends and get back into a car seat for another 2 hour ride home.
Little sister Olivia didn’t know any better so just went back to sleep.
