A Looooooooong way from home

Topic: My Story| No Comments »

We drove nearly 5000 kilometers and our little girls did great. It was their first long trip and they got to see 23 of their relatives which includes seeing 3 great grandmas for the first time. We also visited a car and airplane museum, a zoo, a train museum and several thousand bails of hay. After many hours of driving in a perfectly straight line, I am happy to be back where the only straight road is in the parking lot of Superstore and you wear out your brakes in a month or two.

I did enjoy seeing the harvesting and old farm houses. The best part though was seeing our grandmas, uncles and aunts again. It was a regular trip when I was a child and this trip brought back many great memories. I am not sure if our kids are old enough to remember this long drive but I took many pictures and they seemed to enjoy it.

Thanks for everyone who let us stay with you.

Daddy, I’m happy

This Saturday I thought it was time to take my little daughter on a date. So in the morning I took her in her pajamas to McDonald’s. While in the line she grabbed my hand then a minute later she looked at me and said “Daddy, I’m happy”. That second all the stress from the weeks work, all worries about money and all the things I can’t do, vanished.
Later that day Jenn and Olivia where going to the fabric store and I asked Joy if she would come with me to Princess Auto. I guess she heard the word “Princess” because she was happy to come a long, and all I could think is “Joy, I’m happy”.
